Experiencing Life Between Lives

Remembering Unique Experiences

By Mary Lee LaBay, Ph.D.

In one of his humorous and insightful books, Douglas Adams writes, “He hoped and prayed that there wasn’t an afterlife. Then he realized there was a contradiction involved here and merely hoped that there wasn't an afterlife.”

Observing past lives will give you greater clarity about the levels of your awareness during the stages of pre-attachment, embryo, the birth process, and early childhood. You will gain information about the factors that you considered when you made decisions about your next body and family. In cases involving pre-birth and early childhood memories, it is notable how much awareness and clarity of knowledge the embryo, baby, and child have, in regard to the environment, the people, and the emotions of everyone involved.

By employing techniques for accessing past life memories, useful information regarding people’s objectives for choosing a particular body and sets of parents has often emerged.

The repeated visitation to past lives and the life between lives, provides a vast amount of information concerning death and dying. Such information can be very comforting to us as we approach these issues, both in our own lives and with our loved ones.

During a typical past life regression session, after the client has experienced the events of a past lifetime, I request that she move to the time of death to understand the conditions at that time. When she has determined the age at which she died and the cause of death, she releases from the body and experiences the death process itself.

After experiencing the death process, she’ll explore what happens during life after death. Just as each lifetime that we experience will be different, each experience of life after death will be unique.

While experiencing a past life, a client described being in her mother’s womb while the mother was walking on the beach. It was time to be born, and her mother, a member of a primitive culture, squatted on the beach and gave birth. My client remembered the entire process of being birthed: the acknowledgment that it was time to move out of the womb, the journey through the birth canal, and then being thrust out into the air, on the beach. As a baby my client claimed that one of her greatest disappointments was the lack of information. She craved instruction and understanding about her new world, even as an infant. She cried frequently, not from hunger or pain but from frustration that her vast consciousness was not being filled with useful knowledge about this fascinating world she had entered.

So, while exploring past lives and the time between lives can provide immeasurably powerful information about ourselves, it can further assist us in properly raising our children!
